 License Course

 

( As a pilot has to obtain license for flying of civil aircraft,

similarly the engineer has to obtain an aircraft engineer license issued by the D.G.C.A., Govt. of India, for maintenance and certification of Civil Aircraft, Graduate engineers of any branch cannot act as an Aircraft Engineer unless they undergo license course and obtain license).

 

Duration of course : Three years

 

Eligibility :                              Intermediate or 10+2 with 50% marks in          Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics in aggregate or Diploma or Degree in any

                  branch of engineering with minimum 50% marks.

Educational Qualification:         As above

Age :                                        17 to 24 years

Selection procedure : As per merit list on the basis of written entrance tests Performance.

 

Admission Procedure : Admission once in a year July.

Prospectus & Application Forms available throughout the

year. Cost of the prospectus Rs.350/- if taken by hand from

the counter and Rs.400/- by registered post. Demand Draft

should be drawn in favour of "Indian Institute of Aeronautical

Science" payable at KOLKATA or through M.O.

 

 

Scholarship offered :

Merit Scholarships for bright students at different stages of the institutional exam and D.G.C.A. Licence examination  for their better performance i.e. up to Rs.60,000/-.

Further scope for higher studies in the :

1. Facility for obtaining Degree in Aeronautical Engineering in institute additional one year with A.M.E. course.2. This training course is at par with ICAO standards(INTERNATIONAL CIVIL AVIATION ORGANISATION),so after completion students may go abroad for higher and advance studies or job.

Hostel facilities : Separate hostels for girls and boys.

Fees and Expenditure : Rs.38,000/- tuition fee per annum (year).

Facilities to girl students :

1. 20% seat reserved.

2. 20% relaxation in tuition fees.

1. Modern teaching aids as computers, video films, slides for overhead projectors & cut view of engines are shown to make students understand better.

2. Library with well stocked world wide aviation books.

Special/Unique features :

1. Aircraft, Aircraft Engines and its components to make the concept of the students very clear.

2. Experienced and competent instructors for all subjects.

3. Also On Job Training is imparted on serviceable aircraft (Flying Aircraft).
